Overview
Family-run Orange Beach billfish tournament at The Wharf that opens the eastern Gulf season and the Gulf Coast Triple Crown each May; the 30th edition ran May 12-16, 2026.
Founded in 1996, the Orange Beach Billfish Classic is fished from The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama. Boats leave through Perdido Pass on Thursday morning and weigh blue marlin, tuna, dolphin and wahoo on Friday and Saturday evenings, with billfish release points and optional cash awards.
The tournament is the first leg of the Gulf Coast Triple Crown Championship and describes itself as the largest tournament donor to The Billfish Foundation. The 2026 event was the 30th annual.
