Overview
Month-long Gulf-wide swordfish tournament in which each team fishes its three best days in May and weighs at certified stations from Texas to Florida.
The Swordfish Showdown runs for the month of May across the northern Gulf. Teams may depart from any Gulf port, choose three fishing days, and weigh swordfish (60-inch LJFL minimum) at a network of certified weigh stations; catches must be documented on continuous video. Live scoring is on CatchStat and the event is produced by Classic Fishing Events, the group behind the Louisiana Gulf Coast Billfish Classic and Gulf Coast Masters.
