Overview
One-day, winner-take-all heaviest blue marlin shootout fished July 4 from any Gulf Coast port with $3,000 per-boat entry and official weigh stations across the Gulf.
Modeled on the Blue Marlin World Cup, the Gulf Cup is a single-day July 4 shootout in which boats may leave from any Gulf Coast port, fish 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. local time and weigh a qualifying blue marlin (110-inch LJFL minimum) at any official Gulf Cup weigh station. Entry is $3,000 per boat and 80 percent of entries go to the single heaviest fish; if no qualifying fish is caught the pot rolls over.
