Overview
One-day, one-species, one-winner blue marlin tournament fished every July 4 from ports around the world, with a seven-figure winner-take-all purse.
The World Cup Blue Marlin Championship is fished every July 4, with teams anywhere in the world fishing eight hours in their own time zone for the single heaviest blue marlin. There is no second place; the $5,000 boat entry and optional $8,000 Big Blue Challenge have produced winner payouts exceeding $1 million. Winners have come from Bermuda, Hawaii, Cape Verde, the Azores, Madeira and other blue marlin hot spots.
The 2026 event was won by Bad Company; registration is open for July 4, 2027.
